Makongo or Mukonga was, according to the oral tradition of the Duala people of present-day Cameroon, the father of Doo, the first Duala to be recognized as a "King" by European merchants. He belonged to the Bonanjo community named for his father, & was a non-biological ancestor of the "Bell" lineage of Duala rulers.[1][2]
